Into the Woods
Summer Art Camp
Sculpt, Draw and Paint while learning about life in the Redwood Forest!
“Into the Woods” is the ideal art camp for young naturalists and art enthusiasts alike. While becoming familiar with the wildlife of the redwood forest, students will learn fundamental art techniques and principles along the way.
Learn all about scale and composition while discovering what you might find nestled amongst the leaves while walking through one of the many trials of Nisene Marks.
Have some fun with Color Harmony while learning the anatomy of various mushrooms from the forest.
Students will have the opportunity to sketch from a Great Horned Owl specimen on loan from our local natural history museum, and complete the workshop with a pocket full of tips and techniques for sketching from nature and how to complete a watercolor illustration from start to finish.
